Aphria, produces and supplies medical cannabis in the form of cannabis capsules, oral solutions, concentrate syringes and tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol vaporizers.

The company was founded by Leamington greenhouse operators Cole Cacciavillani and John Cervini on June 22, 2011 and is headquartered in Ontario, Canada.

In December 2017, Aphria announced that Shoppers Drug Mart, a Canadian pharmacy, would sell its production online.

Upon completion of the Aphria Diamond greenhouse, Aphria will be capable of producing 230,000 kg of cannabis annually with a focus on process automation. Having a low P/S ratio is a positive for the company.

Aphria also owns Broken Coast Cannabis Inc., licensed to produce 4,500 kg of cannabis annually. And the company has recently moved into the German medical cannabis market when its German subsidiary, Aphria Deutschland GmbH, received a domestic cultivation license issued from the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices in April of 2019.

As part of its international expansion, the company acquired C.C. Pharma giving it access to 13,000 pharmacies across Europe.

Short-term, the company is currently focusing on expanding into the Canadian market. Since the stock is also being traded in the options market, it is presented here as being a good investment possibility when using a covered call option strategy for generating monthly income in the form of option premiums.

Aphria, Tilray and Sweetwater Brewing Company recently entered into a partnership to deliver cannabis beverages to the North American market.

Tilray and Aphria merged in the spring of 2021 thus creating a more competitive cannabis conglomerate.
